NFL 2015 News: All the Players Serving 2015 Season Suspensions
With National Football League's season opener just a few days away, Yahoo Sports compiled a list of players that would be getting a later start to the 2015 season due to various suspensions meted by the league. Below are some of the players that will be missing games.
Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver Martavis Bryant will be missing four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
T.J. Ward of the Denver Broncos will be missing the team's season opener against the Baltimore Ravens as punishment for an incident that occurred at a nightclub 15 months ago.
Jay Ratliff of the Chicago Bears is scheduled to miss three games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The punishment stems from Ratliff pleading guilty back in April to driving while intoxicated. He was also ordered to serve a year probation, pay a $750 fine and submit to sobriety, as noted by Yahoo Sports.
San Diego Chargers tight end will be missing the team's first four games for violating the league's policy on PEDs. Yahoo Sports points out that Gates blames the failed test on supplements and holistic medicines that he took.
The Dallas Cowboys' Rolando McClain was suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
New York Jets defensive end Sheldon Richardson will also be missing the first four games of the 2015 season for violating the league's substance policy. Yahoo Sports notes that the suspension is reportedly for marijuana use.
Running back Le'Veon Bell of the Steelers will miss the first two games of the season as punishment for his drug and DUI charges from August 2014.
Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy will be missing the first four games of the season as punishment for a domestic abuse case that led to him missing 15 games for the Carolina Panthers in 2014. He was originally meant to serve a 10-game suspension before it was reduced.
