Google Nexus 5X News: 5.2-inch Device Offers Price Drop Under $285?

The Nexus 5X price drop is definitely good news for consumers as the device has been discounted to just under $285.

The news about the price drop was announced by Amazon as the reseller posted the gate cost at $284, which is a steal considering that the 16 GB Nexus 5X phone normally sells for $379.

The 32 GB Nexus 5X also has a big price drop as Amazon now advertises a 19% reduction in cost from the original $429 to just $349.

The device being sold is completely unlocked and multi-mode, which means they will work on most international carriers as well as AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon, along with the mobile virtual network operators. The international versions, however, don't come with a warranty.

Of course, this wasn't the first time that Nexus 5X price drop was announced, and it wasn't even the lowest price so far. In February, a seller on eBay offered the phone for just $269.99.

The 5.2-inch Nexus 5X is run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and features a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 mated to the 1.8 GHz hexa-core Adreno 418 GPU and also has 2700 mAh fast-charging battery. The main camera is 12.3 MP while the front selfie-snapper is 5 MP.

A special promo also offered the phone for just $199 if buyers will sign on to Project Fi, according to Google.

"If you purchase a Nexus 5X from fi.google.com, the discounted price will automatically apply during checkout," the company says. "You must then activate Fi service on the same account within 30 days of device shipment, or an additional $150 will be charged to your Google Payments account."
