Next Windows 10 Update Release News: Redstone Delayed To 2017 Spring, Hardware Issues Related ?
Consumers have been complaining of some glitches on Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 and hopefully, with the next Microsoft Windows 10 update, these issues would finally be addressed.
Microsoft expert Mary Jo Foley suggested as much during an article for ZDNet where she said that that delay in the next Windows 10 update could be tied in to the new hardware.
While the rumors about Redstone being delayed as far as the spring of 2017, Foley insisted that the new update might be released "just before the end of calendar 2016."
But she did confirm that the delay in the next Windows 10 update could be related to hardware issues, but not what consumers expected.
"Microsoft's Windows and Devices Groups are working increasingly closely," she wrote. "My sources have said Microsoft is prioritizing and tailoring new features coming in Windows 10 largely based on what the Devices group wants and needs to showcase its hardware."
Tech Radar noted that pushing back the next Windows 10 update makes sense, if only to work out the kinks in the hardware issues of Surface Book and Surface Pro 4.
"Windows 10 is still scheduled to receive the first half of the Redstone update in June 2016," the article added. "A few of its slated features include tighter Window 10 integration across devices and more apps showing up in the Windows 10 store."
Also, rumors have claimed that Microsoft is going to release Surface 4 tablet and Surface Phone before the end of 2016.
Nevertheless, Microsoft remains mum amid all the rumors surrounding the next Windows 10 update.
