Next-Gen Moto 360 News, Rumors: Lenovo CEO Teases Device Successor, Leaked Images Show Major Upgrades
Even as Motorola is enjoying the success of its first wearable device Moto 360, news regarding the second edition of the smartwatch is making the rounds on the Internet. The latest information seems to be almost official, since it was revealed by none other than the Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing, who recently posted images of what is believed to be those of the next-gen Moto 360 smartwatch on Weibo.
However, IB Times reports that the images were removed soon after they were posted, suggesting that they were not for view by the public.
CNET, on the other hand, reports that it is common knowledge that once something is posted on the Internet, it remains there forever. In fact, MyDrivers captured the leaked Moto 360 2 images before they were taken down.
If these images are any indication, the next-gen Moto 360 smartwatch will come with sweeping changes on board. However, the upgrades may not include any change in the "flat tire" black bar across the bottom. A closer look at the images shows that the successor of the Moto 360 may come with transposable front panel as well as redesigned lugs beneath the body of the smartwatch, making it much easier to change straps.
The images also make it clear that the upcoming Moto 360 2 come with great customization options, as the watches appear in different sizes of bands and watch faces. In fact, one image of the new smartwatch particularly displays different color options for the bands as well as front panel.
Meanwhile, a report by Android Central says that the images were posted along with a cryptic message, "Moto 360, matching the arrival of the era of freedom, our store in the future to increase the function of the watch shop." While this does not give any idea regarding the upcoming Moto 360, perhaps the mention of the "era of freedom" refers to interchangeable bands and front panels.
