NewSong Band Talks Winter Jam Tour Spectacular and Upcoming Project; 'It's Exciting to See What God is Doing in Christian Music' (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Legendary Christian gospel group NewSong stopped to talk with BreatheCast on the red carpet at the K-LOVE Fan Award 2014 where they briefly spoke of the Winter Jam Tour's success and their new project.

First and foremost, the band was glad to be at the K-LOVE Awards and was looking forward to a great night with their peers.

"It's exciting to be here with our friends, and it's exciting to see what God is doing in Christian music," said Russ Lee.

For the fourth consecutive year, Winter Jam topped Pollstar's First Quarter Year To Date Worldwide Ticket Sales chart - Top 100 Tours, surpassing all other 2014 first quarter tours. There were 34 sellout shows and over half-a-million people came out to the concerts.

"It blows us away every year, like we always say, we can't take credit for it. It's something that you can't explain. God just took it and it's amazing to see how he's using it," said Matt Butler.

Winter Jam's 2014 lineup included Newsboys, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, Thousand Foot Krutch, Plumb, and Colton Dixon among others.

The group also said they are working on some new projects concerning Winter Jam, the church, and their gospel material. The band would be looking to release their 27th record since 1981.

"We are actually working on a new project, and something for folks that come to Winter Jam and support what we do but also something for the church.," Lee said. "We are very excited about brand new worship songs and a new NewSong project. We're also working on Winter Jam. We are always working on Winter jam and we have a couple of other things that we are right in the middle of."

Last year the group focused their efforts on their latest album, Swallow The Ocean.
