The Rangers (22-11-4) are attempting to lengthen their current winning streak to four games when they battle the Kings on Thursday night.

"I think it's good for our confidence to know that we can play a really strong game against the best teams in the league," said Rangers All-Star goalie Henrik Lundqvist to reporters after making 24 saves in the victory versus the Ducks.

Previously, New York demolished the Anaheim Ducks by a final score of 4-1, where Rangers' Rick Nash, Dominic Moore, Derick Brassard, and Mats Zuccarello each scored a goal for the Broadway Blueshirts on January 7.

"It's huge. We talked about it for the last couple of days," said Nash to reporters.

"We had three days off, so we talked about challenging ourselves and using this game as a measuring stick of where we're at. So it's a huge win for us. We're playing our style and we're not hurting ourselves."

Last year, the Kings defeated the Rangers in the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals in five games on January 13, where Los Angeles defenseman Alec Martinez scored the championship clinching goal versus Lundquist in double overtime by a final score of 3-2 in Game 5.

Meanwhile, the defending Stanley Cup Champion Kings (19-12-9) are trying to avoid a potential two game losing streak when they host the Rangers.

"It's pretty fresh. I can relive it ...," said Kings head coach Darryl Sutter.

"I can relive that...not just last year's playoff, but just about every (playoff)...I visually, in my mind, have a lot of playoff games that I can think about that seem like really not far. And it's because we play the Rangers."

Previously, the Kings were defeated by the Nashville Predators by a final score of 7-6, highlighted by Los Angeles left winger Dwight King scoring two goals in a losing effort.
