New York Knicks News, Rumors: Carmelo Anthony Set as Team's Ambassador for All-Star Weekend?
New York Knicks will need Carmelo Anthony to play in All-Star game next month as a means to recruit free agents for the team.
Anthony does not need to leave his hometown since New York will be the venue for the All-Star game and he can start persuading players by being the host. On Monday, Anthony was questioned if he can be an effective recruiter for the team. The star player replied that it will not be an issue and he even described himself as a "good salesman" but there is still plenty of time before that moment comes.
The All-Star Weekend will be on Feb. 13 to 15 so Anthony still has plenty of time to prepare.
Anthony's performance during the last game of Knicks against New Orleans Pelicans greatly helped in achieving victory. Knicks defeated the Pelicans with 99 points over the latter's 92 points. The team won for the first time in over a month and for the first time in their home court after two months.
The Knicks power forward expressed that "it feels good." Anthony added that winning is always a great feeling and he felt good to experience it one more time.
This is Anthony's first home court game since Christmas due to the condition of his left knee. The athlete gave a stunning performance and scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and he performed the biggest assist of the night by giving Jose Calderon a corner-three pointer that increased their score to 96 versus Pelicans' 92 points.
Anthony added that losing is also an emotional experience. It can make the team upset but that night when they won was the time they decided to fight. However, one win after a month may not be enough and the player hopes to succeed in more games with his team mates.
Hopefully, Anthony can carry out their last performance for another win on the New York Knicks' game against Philadelphia 76ers at 7:00 pm on Jan. 21.
