New York Knicks 2015 News: Buyout Agreement Made For Amar'e Stoudemire
News of Amar Stoudemire and the New York Knicks reaching an agreement on a buyout came to light after the All-Star game at Madison Square Garden this weekend.
The NBA star only had two months left on his five year, $99.7 million contract. However, Stoudemire is looking for a bright future.
Stoudemire was found saying to Yahoo! Sports, "It's not an easy decision to make.Over time, we will see how things pan out. You give yourself a break during the All-Star break. You think about it with your family. ... That will give me a good solid week on how to weigh out the rest of the season."
According to ESPN, The 32-year-old power forward and center player has been an All-Star six times. He has also averaged 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds each game this season, despite his ankle, wrist and knee injuries.
According to Reuters, The Knicks have been on a downhill this season as the team's took a toll for the worse as they hold a 10-43 record, the worst in the NBA.
Teammate of Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony said of the buyout, "He brought that excitement back to New York," It's hard to believe [the buyout] happened. A big reason why I came here was because of him."
Stoudemire is considering joining a team that is in the running for the playoffs, with resources saying the main team being Dallas Mavericks. Other sources have mentioned that the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns are expressing interest as well.
Many choices await Stoudemire as he takes the next step in his NBA career.
