The New York Islanders will battle the Calgary Flames on February 27 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The Islanders (40-20-2) are looking to extend their current winning streak to three games when they host the Flames on Friday night.

"We stayed focused and tight as a group, and it paid off," said New York backup goalie Chad Johnson to reporters.

"It all starts in the room for us, as it has all year. We know what it takes to be successful."

New York defeated the Arizona Coyotes by a final score of 5-1, where Islander players Brock Nelson and Kael Mouillierat each totaled a goal and an assist in the victory on February 24.

"We knew we needed to be better, and we went out and played a strong third," said Islanders left winger Matt Martin to reporters.

"We want to play up to our capability and we did."

Meanwhile, the Flames (33-24-4) are attempting to extend their current winning streak to two games when face the Islanders at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Recently, the Flames defeated the New Jersey Devils by a final score of 3-1, where Calgary center Sean Monahan had a goal and an assist in the victory on February 25.

"These were points that we desperately needed," said Flames goalie Karri Ramo to reporters after he notched 26 saves in the game.

"You could see that we were desperate enough to earn a win."
