The New York Islanders will go head-to-head with the Boston Bruins on January 29 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The Islanders (31-14-1) are looking to prolong their winning streak to three games when they host the Bruins at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

"Obviously it's disappointing, but we got a win," said New York goalie Jaroslav Halak to reporters after notching 40 saves against the Rangers.

"It's not like it was a 1-0 game. Hopefully next time I will have more luck at the end."

The Islanders recently crushed their crosstown rivals, the New York Rangers, by a final score of 4-1, where Islander players Mikhail Grabovski, Ryan Strome, John Tavares and Matt Martin each scored a goal in the victory on January 27.

"We love the atmosphere when we play the Rangers," said Martin to reporters.

"I didn't have any doubt the fans would show up for this one. They've been here all year."

Meanwhile, the Bruins (25-16-7) are attempting to prevent a possible two game losing streak when they encounter the Islanders on Thursday night.

The Bruins were recently defeated by the Colorado Avalanche by a final score of 3-2 in a shootout, where Boston players Torey Krug and Brad Marchand each scored a goal in a losing effort on January 21.

"It's definitely disappointing considering we were up with a couple of minutes left," said Marchand to reporters.

"We did get a point. It could be worse. Going into the break, we've got to be happy with how we battled back and put ourselves in a playoff position."
