New Spider-Man Actor News, Rumors: Donald Glover Wants to Play Webslinger in Reboot Movie?

Most fans will remember actor/producer/rapper Donald Glover campaigning to slide into the role of Spider-Man after news got out that the franchise was going to be rebooted.

Although it didn't happen, it certainly created a lot of buzz, and some of that buzz has recirculated with the news of the franchising rebooting once again.

Yahoo was lucky enough to sit down with the talent and ask him what he thought about his chances this time for the role, or whether he was even still interested in it.

"Of course, I would always be honored to play Spider-Man," Glover states, "But I just want the Spider-Man movie to be dope, that's all I want."

Glover currently does the voice for Miles Morales, the 'Ultimate Spider-Man' version of the character on Disney XD.

"I'm leaving it to them [his fans]," Glover goes on to say. "Campaigning's part of life, but for me, I've got a lot of stuff that I'm really excited about, and dropping it all... of course it'd be an honor. But it's fine, if it comes, if not."

It appears that the actor is actually still interested in the character, but he's taking a realistic approach on things. It's unlikely that he fits the description for what Marvel is looking for in their next Spider-Man.

It was revealed shortly after the news of the character appearing in 'Captain America: Civil War' that they would want to cast younger for the role, such as early high school, so the actor could have a lot of longevity within the franchise.

Glover seems to have his hands full anyway, with the release of his two movies, 'Lazarus Effect' and 'Magic Mike XXL', both to hit big screens later this year.
