PlayStation 4 Update News: PS4 2.50 'Yukimura' Patch Details, Changes
SCEA director, Scott McCarthy announced this week on the PlayStation Blog that the 2.50 update, nicknamed "Yukimura," is getting closer to being released. New features, including the highly anticipated Suspend/Resume feature, will be available with the next update for the PlayStation 4.
Unveiled nearly two years ago, players were excited to hear that PlayStation was looking for an even faster way to load games.
"Suspend/Resume, which will be supported by nearly all PS4 titles, will create an atmosphere where your games are immediately available at any time - just pick up your DualShock 4 wireless controller, hit the PS button and get right back into the action of your games," McCarthy said, "When it's time to log off, simply put your PS4 in Rest Mode and when you power up the next time, you'll start your game where you left off. Spend less time getting into your games and more time playing them."
When users turn 18 years of age, they can upgrade their sub-account to a master account, which will let them have more chatting capabilities, fund their own wallet and make purchases. Upgrading the account is simple as users only have to access the Sony Entertainment Network website to upgrade.
With the update comes the ability to connect PlayStation and Facebook accounts so that finding friends is easier. The update also will allow games that support 60 fps to customize the frame rate using Remote and Share Play.
"Yukimura" will include better accessibility options too. The announcement stated, "Options include text to speech, enlarged text, bolder fonts, higher contrast UI, zoom for displayed pictures, invert colors on screen and more."
A screenshot will be taken for each in-game trophy received. The new updates will also users to sort through their trophies and delete games from the Trophy list that have 0% completion.
The "Yukimura" update will be released soon.
