New Marvel Series News, Rumors: John Ridley to Direct Upcoming TV Show for ABC?

Currently, Marvel is seemingly interested in introducing another television show to ABC, this time, with director/producer John Ridley attached.

Ridley is more commonly known for his work on the recent '12 Years of Slave,' and his upcoming work on the television series, 'American Crime.'

It is said the series will reinvent an existing Marvel character or property, but there has been no leak of details as of yet. This show is also totally separate from the 'Agents of SHIELD' spin-off show that was announced earlier.

"Marvel's aggressive expansion into television now includes four current series (ABC's SHIELD, Agent Carter-which is on the bubble for a pickup-and Netflix's Daredevil), plus several confirmed upcoming titles (Netflix's A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, followed by the Netflix character mash-up The Defenders). Neither Marvel nor ABC would comment on the Ridley project," writes EW.

As it stands, there is currently no date attached to this new and secret project.
