New Marvel Series News, Rumors: John Ridley to Direct Ms. Marvel Miniseries?
Producer John Ridley was announced to helm a Marvel superhero show for ABC last week, however as to what the series would be based on wasn't disclosed.
Recent rumors have revealed this secret show to be a Ms. Marvel miniseries. The news comes from a recently deleted Reddit post stating that Ridley's 'American Crime' show will be replaced with a Marvel show based on the character Kamala Khan.
"The rumor says Kamala Khan caught his eye and is the character he's moving forward with. The show would purportedly focus mostly on her obsession with superheroes, and cultural issues like Islamaphobia. That way it would slowly ease her into being a superhero, without necessarily needing Captain Marvel to serve as Kamala's inspiration, given the Captain Marvel is still years away," writes IGN.
It was stated that the Ms. Marvel series would serve as a bridge between the fall and spring runs of 'Agents of SHIELD.' It is also important to note that this series is not the 'Agents of SHIELD' spinoff show that was recently announced.
As there is no validity to this Reddit user's statement, it is best not to jump to conclusions, however this move would make sense and would be a good look for Marvel television.
