LG G3 Features News: New Smartphone Buyers to Get Virtual Reality Attachment

The South Korean tech giant LG Electronics will now be offering a virtual reality attachment to all new customers of its LG G3 smartphone. The gadget will be akin to Google's Cardboard attachment and when a user browses the attachment, he/she can perceive virtual reality (VR) pictures on the device's screen, says Mashable.

According to Latin Post, the LG G3 comes with a Quad HD display, making the device ideal for using a virtual reality attachment owing to the amount of pixels displayed. Precisely speaking, a Quad HD has a whopping 3.7 million pixels and as people using the virtual reality attachments are just one inch away from the screen, they can see the maximum pixels possible.

For those wondering what LG's virtual reality headset is, it needs to be clarified that it a simple plastic piece that can be attached to the LG G3. The volume as well as power buttons of the device are located conveniently on the bottom of the handset making it easier to use the virtual reality attachment.

CNET quotes LG saying that when people owning LG G3 also have any of the virtual reality attachments can download virtual reality games as well as apps from the Google Play Store and "transport themselves to another world."

As of now, LG only plans to offer the virtual reality attachments to people who will be purchasing LG G3 smartphone henceforth. In other words, existing LG G3 owners will not have the opportunity to experience virtual reality immediately on their devices.

The virtual reality (VR) attachment will be available in a box along with a special QR code. When LG G3 owners scan the code, they will receive a free download to the virtual reality game 'Robobliteration.'

Although LG has already launched a promotion for the virtual reality, it is yet to confirm as to when the gadget will actually be available to LG G3 consumers. Moreover, LG also does not have any plan to offer the accessory for separate purchase.

It is worth mentioning here that the virtual reality of LG Electronics is in response to Samsung's Gear VR, which was introduced in 2014 and can be attached to Samsung Note 4 smartphones.
