New James Bond News: Actor Pierce Brosnan & Rapper Kanye West Think Idris Elba Would Make A Great 007
The rumors surrounding Idris Elba playing the next "007" have once again been ignited with a comment made by former James Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan.
In a recent interview with a British radio station, the 61-year-old actor was asked who he believed should take over the role after the current actor, Daniel Craig, exits the role. Elba's name was once again brought up. Brosnan responds:
"Yeah, he would make a good Bond. Colin Salmon also. May the best man get the job and may Daniel (Craig) bring home the bacon for as long as he wants."
Brosnan would be one of the most qualified actors to make the deliberation seeing as how he has played the role four times between 1995 and 2002.
Craig, now 46-years-old, is signed to play two more films, including the upcoming 'Spectre', and most fans are already taking note of the actor's expiration in the role.
Rapper Kanye West also cosigned on Elba's ability to carry the role. He told The Sun:
"I know Idris a little bit and he is a big talent. The movies he has been making are special, and when the role for James Bond comes up it needs to be his."
"James Bond is a role made for British actors and you won't find a British actor who has the talent of Idris. To be honest you won't find many anywhere who have his talent."
"Artists should be visionaries. A black James Bond would be visionary no doubt. Something that 30 years ago would have seemed crazy should now be something that is a real possibility."
Elba however has gone on the record stating he wouldn't want to play the "black James Bond".
Idris recently entertained the speculation with a selfie and Twitter post:
"Isn't 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I've got a shot! Happy New year people."
