New Huawei Budget Smartphone News: Honor 4C with Octa-Core SoC Launched in China
Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has just launched a new budget smartphone dubbed as the Honor 4C. The latest addition to the Honor line of smartphones has been priced at CNY 799 (about USD $130).
GSMArena reports that the new Honor 4C packs Huawei's proprietary octa-core Cortex-A53 powered HiSilicon Kirin 620 SoC clocked at 1.2 GHZ. The device comes with a 5-inch screen display rendering 720 pixels. While the device packs 2GB of RAM, it has an 8GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The Honor 4C is equipped with a 2550 mAh battery.
As far as the camera of the device is concerned, the Honor 4C sports a 13MP primary rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing snapper for selfies. The latest device in the Honor lineup runs Android 4.4 KitKat with EM UI 3.0 skin on top.
The Huawei Honor 4C is available four color options - white, black, blue, gold, and pink.
Currently, the smartphone is only available in China via Tmall and Vmall online retailers. Huawei is yet to announce whether the Honor 4C is be launched for other markets, and if yes, the precise launch date for the other markets.
However, IB Times reports that the device will be made available to other global markets later. Considering Huawei's increasing presence in Asian as well as European markets may denote that a similarly compelling budget handset will appear in these regions in the future.
