Starting from Friday, Dec. 12, 'Harry Potter' novelist J. K. Rowling plans to release 12 short stories, one every day, until Christmas Day. The first short story will be released today at 8 am ET. This is a unique Christmas gift from the writer for all those who are fond of witches, wizards, and muggles.
According to Latin Post, Rowling shared this interesting news via email with those using Pottermore, the website of the author that is devoted to everything related to 'Harry Potter'.
A report by Entertainment Weekly said that by releasing the 12 short stories, Rowling plans to share with her fans a few incidents from 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', a new gold Galleon, may be something from 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire', in addition to a new brew.
According to Rowling, at least one these stories will highlight Potter's nemesis and rival Draco Malfoy. Earlier, Rowling wrote 5,000 words for Pottermore focusing on Dolores Umbridge, another evil character, during Halloween.
In addition, Rowling published a new short story in July 2014 via Pottermore under the pseudo name Rita Skeeter. This short story was published in the gossip column of "The Daily Prophet."
E! Online reported that Skeeter's story included a Quidditch World Cup match. This story offered details of Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione growing up into adulthood.
It is worth mentioning here that the seventh and last Harry Potter book titled 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' was published in 2007, while the last Harry Potter movie titled 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2' was released in 2011.
Apart from Harry Potter stories, Rowling is currently using her time to her write other stories. Already, Rowling has published 'The Casual Vacancy', a best-selling novel, which later went on to be the basis of a mini series on HBO. Two other novels by Rowling, 'The Cuckoo's Calling' and 'The Silkworm', were published under Rowling's pseudo name, Robert Galbraith.
