'Halo 5: Guardians’ Gameplay News: 343 Industries Reveal Improved Weapons & More
With the launch of the upcoming first-person shooter video game 'Halo 5: Guardians,' 343 Industries is planning to enter the gaming industry with considerable excitement. For the uninitiated, this will be the most up-to-date entry in the already famous 'Halo' franchise and will aim at adding to the story of the Master Chief.
According to IB Times, previously, during the beta testing of 'Halo 5,' only a few weapons and abilities were available to the players. Now, before the final release of the game, developers are tweaking them to maintain a healthy balance.
Josh Helms, 343 Studios head, recently revealed, "This has been improved since beta. All weapons have gone through substantial tuning as a result of feedback and data."
Helms, who was speaking via a community thread at Team Beyond, disclosed a few details regarding the upcoming divisive smart-scope capability for the game. He said, "Smart-Link transitions (in/out of zoom) have been sped up substantially since beta."
The studio head went on to add, "Sniper Rifle was a big offender in beta and has had perhaps the most change, but all weapons are much faster to zoom in and out and it makes a big difference in the flow of combat."
Elucidating about the upcoming game, Helms said that the ability of 'New Halo 5: Guardians' is in third person mode, as it "gives players an opportunity to see their Spartan perform the move."
Earlier, the studio had tried the first person mode for the game, but that didn't work out as they had expected.
According to Helms, "We've experimented with first person charge, but it's impossible to get it to read clearly without extending the range beyond what makes sense for balance."
Before concluding, it needs to be mentioned that it appears that the ground-pound ability has also been re-mapped to a new button, however, it is still known which one it is. Referring to the risk/reward power, Holmes remarked, "This will still be a risky move that should be used situation-wise, but executing the move feels much more fluid and intuitive."
The new 'Halo 5: Guardians' game will arrive later in 2015.
