New 'Fifty Shades' Book Spoilers, News: 'Grey' is Not Christian’s First Time as a Narrator

E.L. James' new book, Grey has soared to the top of Amazon's best seller list ten days before its scheduled release for June 18.

Fans of the series are excited to get their hands on a copy, as the author promises that this book will be told from the perspective of Christian Grey.

The first three novels in the series were told from the point of view of Anastasia Steele, the innocent female protagonist in the tale.

However, this will not be the first time that James has explored her extremely popular trilogy from the point of view of Christian Grey.

The new book, the release date of which coincides with Grey's birthday, began just like James' other three novels.

She started them off as fan fiction based on Twilight, the popular vampire novel series by Stephenie Meyer.

She used Meyer's original characters, vampire Edward Cullen and innocent Isabella Swan. James wrote 50 pages as an excerpt of the story from Edwards's point of view as an entry for a fundraiser in 2010 under the pen name Snowqueens Icedragon.

Paul Bogaards, a spokesman for the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group that includes the imprint of Fifty Shades, Vintage Books, confirmed this.

"Some material in the book is drawn from that previous work," stated Bogaards.

The new book, entitled, Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian, was announced on Monday, and according to James, it is a response to a number of fan requests begging her to tell Christian's side of the story, especially after she teased a chapter written from Christian's point of view at the end of the third book.
