New 'Assassin’s Creed' Title Release Date, News: Leaked Footage Sets Game in London
The next major 'Assassin's Creed' title will allegedly be released in 2015 and gaming outlet Kotaku has learned from a leak that the upcoming game will be set in London during the 19th century.
The game, which has a codename of 'Victory' is speculated to be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC by the Fall of next year, according to a sources. However, Ubisoft has not stepped out and confirmed that information.
Apparently, leaked video footage showing some scenes in the game revealed that it was set in the Victorian era, with scenes in alleyways and in the stagecoaches of London.
The newest offering of Ubisoft is expected to give fans a game that has a "historical period" feel.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft confirmed that the leaked footage was similar to what the new game will be about, although it pointed out that it was not an "actual representation of the game."
In a statement sent to Eurogamer, Ubisoft said it was unfortunate that "internal assets," which were not meant to be released to the public, are leaked, adding that although they are happy that fans are now watching and waiting for the release of 'Victory', they were "disappointed for fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public."
"The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of 'Assassin's Creed Unity' for players," Ubisoft wrote in the statement.
Veering from the previous 'Assassin's Creed' games that were helmed by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, 'Victory' will be the first in the series to have been developed by its Quebec office.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft has already announced that its Quebec studio would be spear-heading a new game in one of their series, but it has not been revealed which game series it was for, until now.
