'House of Cards' Season 4 Renewal News: Netflix Picks Up 'HoC' for More Episodes

The engaging political drama, House of Cards, has been a favorite among fans and critics since its debut in 2013, and for those that may not know, the series, a Netflix original, stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as Frank and Claire Underwood.

The third season of the show premiered in February and Netflix has made the decision to pick up the show for a fourth season.

The show will begin fourth season production this summer and continue throughout the remainder of 2015 in order to meet its usual release date, which is in February. This sets the release for the fourth season at February 2016.

The stars of the show, Wright and Spacey, will likely return for the fourth season as well as some of their costars, Paul Sparks, Kim Dickens and Kars Mikkelsen.

The show will still be produced by its original executive producing team, which includes Spacey, David Fincher, Beau Willimon and Michael Dobbs, who penned the novel that the series is based upon.

The show had initially been ordered for two seasons, but critics says that the third season had some issues with keeping the political intrigue of the first two seasons, as well as developing characters and progressing the plot.

Nevertheless, Netflix has decided to maintain confidence in the program, which is not a surprise to anyone. House of Cards is Netflix's most critically acclaimed original series, with two Golden Globes having been won by Spacey and Wright.

Viewers and critics do not doubt that Netflix will attempt to keep this award winning show in production for as long as they can.

Hopefully, the fourth season will show a steady improvement and rise in positive reviews for the show.
