'NES Classic Edition' Game News: Nostalgia Is Priced At $60 With HDMI Cable

The announcement of the NES Classic Edition evoked a lot of nostalgia for fans of the Nintendo console. But while the device certainly looks familiar, there are some modifications that might either be received as good or bad news by fans.

According to Kotaku, fans won't get to play more games other than the 30 titles announced by Nintendo. Apparently, these were carefully chosen for their diversity and gameplay to make sure the players won't get bored.

Another news about the NES Classic Edition that might not be received as well by fans is the fact that it doesn't have a cartridge.

"The console does not use physical media and therefore the Chamber Lid does not open," the spokesperson told Kotaku.

It also doesn't connect to the Internet, which means that fans may not be able to download games from their favorite websites to add to their collection. The NES Classic Edition also doesn't support external storage devices. Again, that's bad news for fans.

The games that will come with the NES Classic Edition are as follows:

Balloon Fight

Bubble Bobble

Castlevania

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong Jr.

Double Dragon II: The Revenge

Dr. Mario

Excitebike

Final Fantasy

Galaga

Ghosts 'n Goblins

Gradius

Ice Climbers

Kid Icarus

Kirby's Adventure

Mega Man 2

Metroid

Mario Bros.

Ninja Gaiden

Pac-Man

Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream

Star Tropics

Super C

Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. 2

Super Mario Bros. 3

Tecmo Bowl

The Legend of Zelda

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

However, the $60 price point is quite cheap for the thrill that nostalgic fans can get from the NES Classic Edition. Also, the report about the HDMI cable is also welcome news considering the standard TVs of today.
