Nelly 2015 News: Rapper Arrested on Felony Drug Charges in Tennessee

One of the most famous rappers in Hollywood, Nelly, recently got arrested on Felony Drug Charges in Tennessee while he was driving around on a bus in Putnam. According to a police report released, the 40-year-old rapper had drugs on him, including meth and marijuana, as well as handguns.

Nelly, real name Cornell Haynes, was reportedly in a bus with Brian Jones when according to the Tennessee Department of Homeland and Security (TDOS) stopped their Prevost motor coach bus at the interstate 40 for "failure to display a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and International Fuel Tax Association (IFTA) sticker on the vehicle," the statement said.

Apparently, the officer smelled pot emitting from the bus which he then decided to "conduct[ed] a probable cause search". After which, the alleged drugs were found which had the rapper, Nelly and Jones arrested at the Putnam County Jail. However, the two were released later that day after posting $10,000 bail.

In the report that the police released it says that "The troopers discovered in the sleeper area a plastic bag that contained five colored crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia."

Meanwhile, handguns were also allegedly discovered according to the report. "further investigation revealed approximately 100 small Ziploc bags that are commonly associated with the sale of narcotics and numerous handguns, including a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a 45-caliber Taurus pistol, and a 500 magnum Smith and Wesson," the statement continues.

Nelly's lawyer already released a statement announcing that "Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search," Scott Rosenblum, Nelly's attorney said.

Rosenblum added saying that he is confident that Nelly is innocent, "We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."
