'Need For Speed 2' News: Sequel Movie in the Works by China Movie Channel & EA Electronic Arts
Recent news has revealed that EA's 'Need For Speed' title is in developments for a sequel to their hit street racing film.
The last movie had a successful release it grossing $200 million worldwide. It was also produced by Disney Touchstone Pictures, however the next film will be reportedly going another route.
"A joint venture between China Movie Channel, Jiaflix and 1905.com has teamed with game publisher Electronic Arts to make the film. It will be an official co-production, which means much of the movie will be filmed in China with a significant amount of local talent," writes THR.
Chairman of China Movie Channel, Cao Yin, made this statement:
"This venture is another great endeavor to bridge the cultures between China and the West through films. We look forward to cooperating with excellent films and filmmakers to thrill and entertain movie lovers internationally with more outstanding films with Chinese labels."
China Movie Channel have proved their aptitude in producing major American films, with their work last year on 'Transformers: Age of Extinction.'
Aaron Paul starred in the first film, however the studio has not yet announced any actors or actresses attached to the project.
