'NCIS: LA' Season 8 Premiere Spoilers: Hetty Says She's The Mole; Kensi In A Coma

The "NCIS: L.A." season 8 premiere saw Undersecretary Corbin Duggan and other higher-ups from Washington make a surprise visit to Hetty and Granger to find out more about the mole working in the agency.

The episode also saw Kensi gravely injured when the chopper she was riding on their way back from a rogue mission in Syria got bombed. While she, Callen, Sam and Deeks were waiting for the rescue team, they got ambushed by a local army but managed to escape after Granger commanded Eric and Nell to exterminate the group through an air strike from a drone.

At the end of the episode, Hetty chose to sacrifice herself for the sake of her other team members by giving Duggan a signed confession where she admitted that she's the mole. Following that, she was escorted out of the office, her hands in handcuffs. As for Kensi, she was in a coma and will not recover anytime soon.

"NCIS: L.A." showrunner Scott Gemmill revealed during his interview with TV Guide that Kensi's recovery will not be a quick one. According to him, Kensi will be out of commission for "potentially forever," or for an extended period of time at the very least. That means fans should expect Kensi and Hetty out of the picture in the upcoming episodes of the series. In their absence, the rest of the team will look to unlikely sources for backup.

"The remaining members of our team sort of have to step up. So we'll see some different partnerships. We'll have some people perhaps brought in, new people to work with. And people like Nell will find themselves doing some more fieldwork than they're used to," he said.

"NCIS: L.A." airs every Sunday, 8:00 P.M. on CBS.
