Kensi and Deeks are taking their relationship to a whole new level in the upcoming season of "NCIS: L.A."

Actor Eric Christian Olsen, who plays Kensi, had some good news for fans of the Kensi and Deeks love team in the recently-concluded San Diego Comic-Con 2016. The actor revealed that the two characters are set to take a big step in their relationship in season 8.

Olsen said that Kensi and Deeks are going to reach a significant milestone in their relationship as they get close to becoming a married couple. However, he said that this event will come with an exciting twist. He described the big step as "engagement but not in the traditional sense of the word."

While the actor did not go into detail, it is expected that the untraditional engagement will be a huge shocker for fans who follow the love birds.

There are speculations that Deeks will do something really crazy as he pops the big question to Kensi, which is somewhat to be expected for someone like him.

"This is probably the craziest season for these two characters that we've ever done," Olsen told TV Line.

Actress Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi, also shared that she was glad about how their storyline was handled perfectly and how everything was taken into account, including her pregnancy.

"Obviously, they've come up with a storyline to sort of hide my pregnancy and I love the first time they did that. And this time, it's an even stronger storyline," the actress teased.

"NCIS: L.A." season 8 premieres on Oct. 2, 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
