'NCIS' Cast News: Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pable Leaving The Show?

"NCIS" stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo were reportedly leaving the crime drama series.

The end of the current "NCIS" season marks Weatherly's departure as Anthony DiNozzo from the show, according to USA Today. As per the publication, CBS confirmed on Jan. 5 that the actor was leaving the show.

In a statement, the network said that after 13 years on "NCIS," Weatherly was leaving the show at the end of the season. According to the network, the actor was a valued part of the CBS family, and the "immense charm" and talent he brought to the screen as special agent DiNozzo had helped make "NCIS" what it was, the number one drama in the world.

CBS also expressed its gratitude to Weatherly for all his contributions to the successful franchise and looked forward to continue developing projects with him as part of the ongoing development deal.

Weatherly also shared his thought on his character DiNozzo on Twitter. On Jan. 5, he tweeted that DiNozzo was a wonderful, quixotic character, and he could not have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons.

In another tweet, Weatherly also wrote that CBS president Les Moonves and the entire network had given him the opportunity of a lifetime.

With his 13 years of stay with CBS' "NCIS," Weatherly also expressed his gratitude to his "NCIS" co-stars and crew. In another tweet, the actor wrote that he would miss the amazing crew and cast, who were like family to him. He added his gratitude message to his fans around the world.

In other news, a Reddit user asked "NCIS" star David McCallum his insight as to why de Pablo had left "NCIS."

McCallum said that at the time he had been astonished when de Pablo had left; however, it seemed in retrospect that she had not been up to handling the demands that the character had put on her. He added that he still did not understand her deeper motives.

"NCIS" airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. On CBS.
