NBA Trade Rumors, News 2014: Top Three Possible Trades- Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Lance Stephenson

The holiday season is not just a season for Christmas presents under evergreens or winter lights, it is a month of NBA trade discussions. This article will consider three of the top potential swaps, including Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Lance Stephenson.

According to the latest rumors, Jeff Green and Brandon Bass in talks with the Celtics.

Veterans Jeff Green, 28, and Brandon Bass, 29, has been one of the longest tenured Celtics, players since 2011. If these players are traded, however, Boston will face some ugly consequences in the near term, and an overhaul of the current team.

Green is the leading scorer with 19.5 points per game, but his high salary makes him an expendable player this season. If Jeff Green is out, the Celtics will have a $37 million cap for next year.

Bass averages 9.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, but he may be too old for the younger players on the team. At the end of this season he will become a free agent, and may be better suited for a different team.

Moving along, Lance Stephenson will apparently remain with the Hornets

Shooting guard Stephenson has not made fans too happy this season. From the team's poor start to the shoddy defense, Lance has become the number one players to blame for the Hornets' misfortune. Throughout 2014, an average of 101.4 points per game has been let through because of the unremarkable defense.

However, the team will be sticking with Lance Stephenson, mainly because the Charlotte Hornets have been "underwhelmed by the quality of trade offers they've received". At only 24-years-old, Stephenson has a second chance to prove himself next year.
