NBA Trade Rumors - Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Some Big Names To Play For New Teams?
Now that the NBA preseason games are underway, rumors are swirling around that some big names in the league will be playing for new teams.
According to rumors, a deal is currently in the works between the Lakers, Bulls and Pelicans, wherein the Lakers might welcome shooting guard Jimmy Butler to Tinseltown, while Chicago might open its doors to power forward Anthony Davis. As a result of this trade, New Orleans will reportedly bring in five new players, including small forward Brandon Ingram, point guard D' Angelo Russell, power forward Nikola Mirotic, power forward Bobby Portis, and point guard Jose Calderon.
There are speculations that if these NBA trade rumors were true, then Bulls might be in for a logjam, especially since it has just welcomed Chicago's Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo. With Jimmy Butler coming into Lakers, there is a big chance for the two superstars to compete with him in terms of time on the floor, spelling disaster for Bulls.
As for Jimmy Butler's coming to Lakers, it is said to be the team's way of coping with Kobe Bryant's retirement, as getting him would aid its young core to mature with their games. However, getting Butler means that the team would have to turn its assets Brandon Ingram, Jose Calderon and D'Angelo Russell into trade pieces.
If the rumored trade pushes through, it is possible that the Pelicans would send Anthony Davis to the Bulls in exchange for Ingram and Russell. Under the NBA guidelines, the seven-player swap is legal. However, the Lakers would have to think it over, considering that this trade involves giving up some of its biggest and most valuable players.
With a few days left to train in their respective camps, the NBA teams are now assessing who will make it to their final rosters.
