NBA Playoffs 2015 Latest News, Injury Updates: Rundown of Final Teams & Their Injured Players
As the NBA playoffs go deeper and deeper into the home stretch, almost all of the remaining eight teams are dealing with injuries with key players. It's been a long known fact that apart from playing the best, you need a lot of luck injury-wise to win a championship. Here's a rundown of the injuries to the playoff teams still battling it out.
The Chicago Bulls may have Derrick Rose back for the first time in the playoffs since suffering his first major knee injury, but they're still hobbling in the postseason as they have in recent years. Pau Gasol missed Game 4 with a hamstring injury, and is still listed as questionable going into Game 5 in Cleveland. The same is true for Taj Gibson, who played 37 minutes in Game 4. He too is listed as questionable for the crucial Game 5 tiff.
The Washington Wizards are up 2-1 on the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed, but they might have to plow on through without their All-Star point guard, who is still listed as doubtful for Game 4 due to the fractures he suffered in his wrist.
Marreese Speights suffered a calf injury in the Golden State Warriors' Game 3 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies that put them down 2-1. He will not be playing in Game 4, which should be an even bigger loss the way the Grizzlies have been bullying the small-ball Warriors down low.
Not like it looks like he's bothered by any sort of injury, but it's important to note that before the playoffs began, and before he suffered a facial fracture that required two metal plates to be inserted in his face, Grizzlies' point guard Mike Conley has been dealing with plantar fasciitis. The Grizzlies' steadying force has been hit in his surgically repaired face several times after his return to the series against the Warriors, with one of the hits requiring stitches near his brow.
