NBA Charlotte Hornets Trade Rumors 2015: Lance Stephenson Leaving for The Denver Nuggets?

Rumor has it that the Charlotte Hornets are looking to trade off Lance Stephenson to the Denver Nuggets.

Rumors of a trade off for Stephenson have been circulating since last month, especially as the Hornets continue to lose game after game. Currently sitting at 12-24, the Hornets lost five straight games against the likes of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.

While they turned things around by winning against Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics, the Hornets are still reportedly assessing Stephenson's performance and looking for a new offer. Rumor has it that they're possibly eyeing the Nuggets as a prospective trade partner.

However, sources claimed that most trade talks have been reportedly put on hold by the Hornets, according to Chris Broussard and Ramona Shelburne from ESPN.

Up to seven teams reportedly inquired about the fate of the player, among which are Brooklyn and Miami, but for now negotiations have been paused. It was said that the Hornets' management was unimpressed with the trade offers they were getting.

Sources also claimed that the Hornets' indecision over trading off Stephenson was actually because they believed the players' subpar performance, movement, and conditioning could be attributed to his injuries. Management was reportedly planning to have Stephenson rest and heal before seeing if they really will trade him off or not, hence putting all talks on hold.

It is unknown what Stephenson's fate will be with the Hornets as their management remains undecided over what to do with the player.

For now, the player is still struggling with his pelvic injury after it was announced that he was staying in Charlotte and sitting out even more games in an effort to recover.

The player already missed five games due his injury, and also missed out on the games against the Orlando Magic and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Hornets managed to win four games without Stephenson in the lineup, casting more doubt on his future with the team.
