NBA All-Star Weekend Schedule: Start Times & Channels for Upcoming Basketball Events
Basketball fans around the world will have their eyes glued to the festivities in New York City on February 13-15 as the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend comes to the Mecca of Basketball.
The fun starts Friday, February 13 with the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game at the Madison Square Garden, which will be airing live on ESPN at 7 pm ET.
Comedian Kevin Hart takes his antics yet again on an NBA court, and will be joined by other celebrities like Common, Nick Cannon, and Chadwick Boseman. Former NBA all-stars Allan Houston and Chris Mullin also join the fray along with Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera, and WNBA star Skylar Diggins, among others.
At 9 pm ET, the league's best young stars take center stage at the 2015 BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge. The game will be debuting a new format this year, with ten rookies and sophomores from the United States pitted against the best first and second year players from around the world.
2014 NBA Draft top overall pick Andrew Wiggins from Canada leads the World Team, while reigning Rookie of the Year spearheads the U.S. Team.
The game is set at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and will be televised by TNT at 9 pm.
The weekend festivities carry on Saturday, February 14 with the Degree Shooting Stars. Four teams compete to make shots from specific spots on the court to close out the event.
Team Bosh is comprised of the Miami Heat's Chris Bosh, NBA legend Dominique Wilkins, and Swin Cash of the New York Liberty.
Team Curry is led by the Warriors' Steph Curry, his dad and former NBA player Dell, and Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm.
The two other teams rounding out the competition will be Team Davis, and Team Westbrook.
TNT coverage of All-Star Saturday begins at 8 pm ET.
That event is followed by the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, scheduled at 8:30 pm Patrick Beverley, Trey Burke, Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, Kyle Lowry, Carter-Williams, Brandon Knight, and Isaiah Thomas comprise the pack of contestants.
The Foot Locker Three Point Contest is widely regarded as Saturday's main event, and is arguably the best field of shooters the competition has ever seen.
Wes Matthews, J.J. Redick, James Harden, Curry, Klay Thompson, Kyle Korver, Kyrie Irving, and defending champion Marco Belinelli make up this year's unbelievable field.
Capping off the night is the Sprite Slam Dunk where Giannis Antetokunmpo, Victor Oladipo, Zach LaVine, and Mason Plumlee defy gravity to wow the New York crowd.
And finally, on Sunday, the star of stars converge at the Madison Square Garden for the 64th NBA All-Star Game. TNT coverage begins at 7 pm ET.
