'NBA 2K17' Release Date, News: Visual Concepts Title Develops To League?
Along with talks of the Olympics in Visual Concepts' "NBA 2K17," it is revealed that small-scale teams will expand thru a league system.
The studio has announced the inclusion of the league expansion feature in "NBA 2K17," The Source has learned. As per the publication, the said feature suggests that players now have the power to create new teams and add them to the league. It is further revealed that gamers now have the choice to either utilize the standard 30 NBA teams, the expansion league that adds six new teams, or a newly created expansion league.
While players can design every team in the league expansion by creating the players or making use of a pre-made team, players also have the option to use ten pre-made expansion teams, which come with team logos, jerseys, and arenas. Moreover, players can also download the teams from their online server, allowing them to play the game with their best team.
The rise of the league expansion system is not the first time Visual Concepts added a new mechanics to the title. In 2015, it was revealed that Spike Lee made a story arc and had it filmed for the title's "MyCareer" game mode, which reportedly had not yet been done before.
In other news, Visual Concepts could also integrate the Olympics to "NBA 2L17." According to Fox Sports Australia, as cited by Forbes, the Australian National Team is set to be part of the title, not to mention things have happened during an Olympic year. This led fans to speculate that the Olympics could factor in in the game, with names like Patty Mills and company confirmed for the Boomers' line-up.
Visual Concepts' "NBA 2K17" is set to be released for the PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox 360 on Sept. 20.
