NBA 2015 Trade Deadline Rumors: Reggie Williams & Goran Dragic Biggest Names at Rumor Mill
Pundits have pegged that with the player movements that occurred earlier in the season, the NBA trade deadline might be an uneventful one, but as Thursday's 3:00 pm deadline looms closer, rumors continue to swirl.
The two biggest names in the trade rumor mill center around two explosive guards"”Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns, and Reggie Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dragic, an unrestricted free agent, and Williams, a restricted one, have both made it clear they will not be re-signing with their current teams after the season.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Suns have put their focus on the teams outside of the Slovenian guard's preferred destinations. Earlier, the 28-year-old's camp named the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks, and the Miami Heat as his ideal landing spot.
Yahoo! reports that the Suns are exploring options outside those three teams, and have been in talks with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and Boston Celtics.
Jackson, 24, has had a turbulent season, amplified by the Thunder's acquisition of guard Dion Waiters. After seeing his playing time dwindle, Jackson has made it clear he will be resistant should the Thunder keep him for the rest of the season, then match offers for him during his restricted free agency.
As of this writing, Presti has made no commitment towards moving the scoring point guard, but has been willing to gauge the market and listen to potential offers, according to sources.
The buy-out route may become this trade deadline's trend, as veterans Tayshaun Prince and Gary Neal have been rumored to follow in Amare Stoudemire's footsteps.
Yahoo! Sports reports that while the Boston Celtics are looking for deals involving Prince, they are also open to buy-out the forward should no deal fall into place.
The Los Angeles Clippers and the Portland Trail Blazers are said to be interested in acquiring Prince.
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reported that Neal also prefers a buy-out from the Minnesota Timberwolves. While talks between the two are ongoing, the report says that the Atlanta Hawks are listening closely.
