NBA 2014 Trade Rumors, Latest News: Kyle Lowry to Leave Toronto Raptors, Roy Hibbert Traded to Cleveland Cavaliers?
With the opening of the 2014-2015 NBA season fast approaching, reports of trade rumors are spreading like wildfire, involving several well-known players like Roy Hibbert and Kyle Lowry.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are said to want Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert on their team to increase their chances of making it to the Playoffs.
The Cavs were reported to have successfully wooed former Miami Heat player LeBron James to play with the team, as well as Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
However, the Cavs seems to be looking to build a powerhouse team trying to snag Hibbert from Indiana Pacers to complete their strong line-up.
The Pacers, on the other hand, are reportedly looking to get their hands on Cavs center Anderson Varejao and guard Dion Walters.
Meanwhile, another persistent trade rumor puts Kyle Lowry in the spotlight, despite signing a four-year deal this offseason with the Toronto Raptors.
However, several reports say that the Raptors are just waiting until after Jan. 15 to trade off the veteran player.
Beyond that, General Manager Masai Ujiri made it clear that they would not let go of Lowry, stating that he will be their star player in the coming years, after proving that he is the one to beat.
"He does have a presence. He plays hard. He has the edge. That's the honest truth-he does have an edge. You can call him what you want. He does this or he does that. He has the edge. And he wants to win. He's very competitive every single game," boasts Ujiri of the 28-year old former Villanova standout in an interview with Toronto Sun.
Other basketball players rumored to be traded off are Paul Millsap and Goran Dragic, who are nearing the end of their contracts, putting them on the list of possible trades.
The 2014-2015 NBA season will kick off on Oct. 28 with the 2013 champions San Antonio Spurs versus the Dallas Mavericks.
