'Nashville' Season 3 Episode 16 Synopsis Spoilers: Photos and Promo Video Reveal Rayna's Frustration

On Thursday, March 26, the synopsis for 'Nashville' Season 3 Episode 16, titled "I Can't Keep Away From You," was revealed along with official episode photos and a promotional video.

The synopsis reads, "Rayna refuses to let Deacon wallow in his condition, but her support only frustrates him and pushes him away." Last week, it was revealed that Deacon, played by Charles Esten, has liver cancer. However, it looks like the Rayna's, played by Connie Britton, wanting to help will only dive Deacon deeper into his depression about his condition.

It was then said in the synopsis that, "Gunnar [Sam Palladio] and Scarlett [Clare Bowen and Avery, Jonathan Jackson] are opening for Rascal Flatts on tour, but, when her past public meltdown haunts her on social media, Scarlett becomes wary of performing again." Last season, Scarlett's stage fright got the best of her and she ended up breaking down onstage and hiding under a piano. Hopefully the memories do not halt her and her group's performance.

Layla (Aubrey Peeples) and Jeff (Oliver Hudson) are still trying to determine their relationship. Layla's ex-husband Will (Chris Carmack) is enjoying working with his writing partner Kevin (Kyle Dean Massey) when, according to the synopsis, he suddenly disappears.

Sadie (Laura Benanti) looks like she'll keep having her drama still when the synopsis teased that "a dangerous situation" with her ex-husband will occur.

Photos of the new episode were also revealed. All of the photos are of character Rayna and Deacon, both looking very sad as they try and work out this new trial in their lives.

A video promo debuted and it shows all of the drama and friction an illness can cause between a couple. Also, it shows bits about Layla and Jeff who looks like their romantic tension is heightening and highlighting singer Christina Aguilera's guest performance.

"Nashville" Season 3, Episode 16 will air on Wednesday, April 1, at 10 pm EDT on ABC.
