‘Nashville’ Season 3 Episode 15 Recap Spoilers: Deacon & Rayna's On Stage Reunion [VIDEO]

'Nashville' fans finally got what they've all been waiting for, the long overdue reunion between Deacon, played by Charles Esten, and Rayna, played Connie Britton. However, some fans were disappointed as it didn't turn out as romantic as they figured it would be.

Even though the reunion wasn't a surprise as it was showcased in the promotional video, some fans might not have expected it to turn out the way it did. While viewers saw the promo close with Deacon and Rayna in each other's arm, it didn't seem like it was the beginning of something romantic.

It's clear that Maddie, played by Lennon Stella, knew something just wasn't right with her parents. Deacon was obviously avoiding going over Rayna's house for quite a while now. What's more complicated is that when Deacon was asked if he still loved Maddie's mother, he said, "Till the day I die."

Moving into the 10th anniversary of Rayna's induction into the Grand Ole Opry, she invited her daughters to perform at the celebration. Only after that was Maddie thinking about inviting Deacon, and Rayna decided to let him in on all the fun.

While Deacon was a touch reluctant to see Rayna, he felt he had to be there for his daughter's Opry debut. During the performance, Deacon played with Maddie and Daphne. After that, he came back onstage to sing a duet with Rayna.

It's at this point that fans are feeling the flames of romance rise up between Deacon and Rayna. However, again, there's still no telling where their relationship is heading.

Following the gig, Deacon left almost immediately and didn't stick it out to talk to Rayna, who after, tracked him down at this cabin. It's at this point that Deacon tells Rayna that he's sick, which leads her to believe that he was talking about his alcohol addiction.

However, that was not the case as Deacon said, "I'm sick, Rayna," adding, "I got cancer, OK?"

Feeling a surge of mixed feelings, Rayna slaps him before breaking down in tears. Deacon then recalls all the times she said his drinking was doing to get him killed on day.

As it stands, the relationship between Deacon and Rayna seems to have hit a sour note, despite their onstage reunion. Beyond that, fans of 'Nashville' will have to wait for the next episode to find out what's going to happen to the two star-crossed lovers.
