Nashville Season 2 Episode 12 Spoilers and Recap: 'Just For What I Am' Shows Scandal Occurs After Juliet Barnes Says, 'There is No God'

A new episode of the hit show NASHVILLE premiered on ABC tonight called, "Just For What I Am".

Returning with the second episode since the December cliffhanger midseason finale, it was discovered in the first episode which character would be written off after the death of Peggy, Mayor Teddy Conrad's new wife.

At the top of the episode singer Scarlett's career is taking off, and she gets asked to join the stage, singing "Free" in concert with Zac Brown, guest-starring as himself.

The burdens of fame are burning the young starlight out and Scarlet wants days off from being overworked. She is trying to get over her recent break up with Avery and her ex-boyfriend Gunnar who is now dating her ex-best friend Zoey.

In the episode Scarlet admitted that she feels chemistry between and her and Gunnar every time they sing, that is why she turned down the opportunity to write with him for Kelly Clarkson. Gunnar said, it is just playing music for him.

The young singer lost it as she felt she had no control over her life and exploded on her label head Rayna James, and said she can not take it anymore.

Main character Deacon gets offered a record deal but asked for time to think it over since times have changed so much, and there is a lack of zeros on the contract.

The star characters, Rayna and Deacon, get together after Rayna asked Deacon to help her write a much-needed hit for her new album. They bond again writing music and reminisce about old time. The two then decide in the end they need to move forward not go back.

A tip made by Juliet's protégé Layna, made a scandal break out about how Juliet is home wrecking the happy marriage of millionaire power couple the Wentworth's. Protestor's start forming everywhere and then concert venues want no association with Juliet because of a video taken out of context that a protester posted of the singer having said, "There is no God."

Jeff, her label head is furious. He visits Juliet's home and insulted and degraded her as he stood inches away from her face, "You should thank God for your good fortune, not deny that he exists," he said wanting the singer to publicly beg for God's and the country's forgiveness.

Juliet drank herself into a stupor because she found her identity in the career that she now saw crashing before her eyes. Then Avery came to the rescue, as he convinced the singer to hit the town disguised as a normal girl as they sang songs with an open guitar case as people cheered them on.

Zoey is bruised by Gunnar's inattention when he gets an invitation to co-write from Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. When Gunnar canceled on girlfriend Zoey for the third time from meeting with her church friends, she confronted him about it. He compared her to his ex-girlfriend Scarlet, which upset her as she skipped out of his number one party at the musician hall of fame.

After bumping into Rascal Flatts' singer again at his party, the veteran gives the young song writer some great advice and said something to the effect of, there is more to life then music, go make right with your girl. Gunnar left the party to do so, and Zoey said when it all goes away she will still be there.

Mayor Teddy Conrad found out the family of the man who shot his wife is claiming his innocence and is investigating the shooter's alleged suicide. Deacon's girlfriend is the lawyer representing the family of the shooter,  Donald Stuffer, ex-employee of Hollander Enterprises.

The episode ended with Juliet praying in a church, as she made a decision to keep doing music. This time however, she asked Avery to write with her. Deacon decided to sign his solo deal offer. Scarlet came to Rayna and asked for forgiveness and admitted the she wanted to be a star, and Rayna and Luke Wheeler decided to make the secret romance public and deal with all that comes with being a celebrity couple.
