'Narcos' Season 2 Release Date, News, Spoilers: 'Narcos' Production Team Searching For Escobar's Death Location?

Recent updates about Netflix original series "Narcos" season 2 revealed that its production team is currently looking for a location to film the death of Escobar.

Portrayed by actor Wagner Moura, Escobar was an infamous drug kingpin in Colombia who accumulated billions through his illicit cocaine trade but was killed in a shootout in 1993.

Based on reports, the production team of "Narcos" plans to shoot the final moments of Escobar in the exact location where he actually died, thus recreating his actual death.

While the death of Escobar in the upcoming season was already confirmed, fans of the series are still wondering if it is possible to not kill his character and extend his storyline instead.

In a statement, however, executive producer Eric Newman said that the writers of the series want to be as faithful to history as possible.

"He will die. The design of the show is we told 15 years of history in season one. At the point of Escobar's escape which is the summer of 1992, Escobar has 18 months to live. That's not something we can change. To stretch that out beyond another season would be disingenuous of us. That story was always designed to have an ending," he said.

Since Escobar's character will die in season 2, fans speculate that the upcoming season will be the series' last. These speculations started in season 1, when original showrunner Adam Fierro left the series even before the season finale.

"Narcos" season 2 is set to premiere this 2016 on Netflix.
