'Narcos' Season 2 Release Date, News: First Official Trailer Unveiled; Second Installment Premieres September 2
Since the first season of "Narcos" came to a close, fans have never stopped wanting more. As luck would have it, the next installment of the series is well on its way and Netflix has just unveiled its first official trailer.
"Narcos" season 2 hits the small screen on September 2, but even the official trailer just won't tell much about what is going to happen to Pablo Escobar.
In the trailer, Pablo Escobar actor Wagner Moura is featured along with three significant dates. The first one is December 1, 1949, Escobar's birthday, the next is December 2, 1993, the day of his death, and the last is September 2, 2016, the date when the new season will be made available for online streaming.
"Narcos" season 2 will have a total of 10 episodes, just like the first season. Aside from Moura, season 2 will also feature the return of Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal, who will play the roles of DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña. In real life, the two agents were the ones who went after Pablo Escobar.
Produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix, "Narcos" tells the story of the notorious drug kingpins of the late 1980's led by Pablo Escobar, and features the efforts of the government to meet them head-on in callous and gory conflicts. The series also details the conflicting forces of law, politics and the military whose efforts to control cocaine often clash.
The first season of "Narcos" is available for streaming for Netflix members.
