'Narcos' Season 2 Release Date News: Creators Target August Release; Escobar's Death Will Be Recreated?
"Narcos" season 2 is slated for release this coming August, and its creators are already working on the double to make sure that it will be released as scheduled.
Series composer Pedro Bromfman disclosed recently that filming for the next installment of the series officially ended last week and that post-production is currently underway. With only two more episodes left to score, he is confident that the production team will be able to wrap up everything before the target release date.
As for the third season, Netflix has not yet confirmed a renewal. The plan for the third season is to follow the network of cartel activity as it moves from Medellin to Calli, then Mexico. However, everything is just a plan until Netflix finally gives its go-ahead for the third season.
Speaking about the upcoming installment, Bromfman said, "Season 2 is a lot about, of course, the fall of Escobar and the fall of the Medellin cartel, and the rise of the Cali cartel. We start meeting a lot of new characters in season 2, and we start understanding how the situation expanded from Medellin to Cali and everything that took place."
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that "Narcos" season 2 will get more reality-driven as it recreates the actual death scene of Pablo Escobar. According to executive producer Eric Newman, fans of the series should expect the closest possible thing to the actual events that led to the death of the notorious drug lord in the upcoming season.
