"Dorean Lives", a rock band from Alabama, is finally getting their 'dream come true' today as their first album " A Cold Fire From The One I Love" is being released to the public. "Dorean Lives" originated from Birmingham, Alabama where Logan, lead singer, and Peyton, drummer/guitarists were attending college and found themselves making music together after a birthday party. Little did they know, Logans livingroom  was about to be the first stepping stone in the making of a great inspirational band. From band member changes, health issues, and just life in general, Logan has made it his promise to family and friends that this band will see through all of it's obstacles and make something out of itself. Well today is that day for Logan, as a three year challenge has finally been achieved. Today, I had the privilege of having a live Q&A with Logan, the lead singer of "Dorean Lives" and the complete conversation is below.

Q: What do you think each of you brought to the table when it came to making "A Cold Fire From The One I Love" ?                                                                A:" I'm a big fan of big string guitars and orchestration and Peyton is very orchestrated, very much a hook-melody guy. Also a little harder edge, and he definitley brought that to the table, and when he brought that on board it definitley helped finish the album thankfully. As far as me, I write the lyrics. I dont really know what to say I brought, besides I'm the one that really keeps pushing for it to keep on going. "

Q: How long in the making was this Album and "Dorean Lives"?                                                                                                                                                     A: "Well, I started working on it when I was in a band called " I am Terrified", it was like with Gotee Records or something like that, I was with them and we were writing what was supposed to be our big deal  LP release, but tours just kept falling through and I was like "Look, I know what I have to do, I have to start writing." and that was back in 2010.  So I got a little money and recorded three songs, and then got a little more money and recorded more, than finally I filled in for a band called " Injured Coal" from Birmingham and they were like "Hey, I really like these songs, Let's just be 'Dorean Lives', and I was like "Yeah, that sounds awesome!".

Q: Tell me about how you came up with the name "Dorean Lives" ?                                                                                                                                         A: "It was named after my girlfriend at the time, she passed away after we had a fight, her writing name was 'Lady Dorean', she was seventeen at the time and wrote poetry, she just  wanted to sound fancy. So when she passed away I started writing songs and stuff like that and it was "Dorean Lives" and nobody really asked about  the loss or music, so it was just, I gotta keep going on, so it is "Dorean Lives".

Q: "Shores" is the lead single for the album. What made you choose that particular song?                                                                                                     A:" I think it is probably the bridge between kind of the heavier content but with the lighter songs on the album as well. It is just such a strong chorus and to the point. I just thought it was one of those songs like  , "Hey,I like that one, it's Dorean Lives" it's a really Pop like song. But when you pay attention to the lyrics and the content and everything it's going to be a little deeper than the regular pop song"

Q: What was your main inspiration behind the album and the making of these 12-songs?                                                                                                       A: As far as influence, I am a big fan of guitars and lots of melodies, something I can run too. I really liked "Smashing Pumpkins" when I was younger and I know Peyton is in the same boat as me with liking "Explosions Into The Sky" and kind of the ambient moody stuff. So we kind of compliment eachother really well. Lyrically though, it sounds like i am really depressing but I am really not. It was really about going through the whole process of trying to find yourself after you lose somebody and the anger and bleekness, sometimes towards other people and especially yourself. Yet, in the end, especially in this album, it is kind of like, I had to be honest with it. I can't sugar coat the fact that after you lose someone you aren't going to be the same. Lyrically, that is the only way I knew how to portray it and I was hoping that someone could relate to it. I didn't have anything when it happened to me and this was the only way I could do anything afterwards."

Q: What kind of excitement are you feeling today with your album finally being out?                                                                                                                  A: I don't Knoooow, it is so weird to know that i have been working on it for so long and now it's like "Oh, Its here.". I have been working on this album for three years, but this is where it is fun.  Now that the album is out there, it's time to just make sure people get what is needed out of it.

Q: What are you guys hoping fans and listeners alike will receive from your music?                                                                                                                    A:Hope. That somebody does know what your going through with that, and that it does get better. Because the fact that it took me like eight years to do this, it is kind of like a peak for me. It's storm, after storm, after storm, and then when you get to the top it's surreal. Once you get past  one challenge, the next one is not necessarily that bad.

Q:What are you guys doing to promote the Album today?                                                                                                                                                       A:I'm doing a little bit of everything, we're about to release the third part of our film series and I plan to finish that up. The film series started with me and Peyton driving down the Road looking for something, as we pull off the road and dig to find a door in the ground. The second one opens up with me dangling in the hole as I'm in a abandoned town, that is actually my hometown, where this black figure is standing in the corner. The black figure is who I have been looking for and I start chasing it into a building and I find this box with a chain and I take it out and I am out of the hole. Then the next one, I jump into these boxes with all these leaves, and Peyton  lights it on fire. My character is not actually in there. After everything is said in done, Im unharmed, and there is a hand in the ashes moving- then everything goes to black. So really, it is about how my character went to the extreme to bring this person back. The goal is to release the video by the end of the month which is the first of 12-series. It is kind of parallel of the whole mourning process and how you just have to let go and move on basically. The obstacle though is that this man goes to drastic, supernatural lengths to bring back his deceased girlfriend, and the other half is just the relationship and truly finding himself."

Q: What can we expect from you guys now: concerts, live shows, new album ?                                                                                                                          A:" Yes, I would love to do show. I am getting a little touring band together so we can do some shows in New Englad, and also some mini tours throughout the year. Then this summer we plan to go 'super tour' and just do everything we can.

Q: Do you have anything else you would like to add about the Album?                                                                                                                                    A: "I just want to portray it in the best light. Honeslty , I really want to know how it affects people. We are building the website right now so that if someone has been through something , they can actually come and write on the message board to talk about it and say, "Listen this really helped us.". I dont know, I know it is a very personal and dark album but it never fails to lose sight of what Hope really is. Hope is,- There is a hope that something happens or something gets better and this  album is certainity that it does get better. I don't really deal with 'what ifs' and this  album is not a 'what if' , this album definitley is a certainity that it does get better. "
