Mumford & Sons New Album News: Rock Group Surprises Fans by Announcing 12 Original Songs

Just when everybody thought that the Grammy-winning band Mumford & Sons were taking a long break from making music or worse, splitting up, the band surprises their fans with a new album with 12 original songs!

Talk about quietly working hard for their new and upcoming third album, as the British band of four have been under speculations that they are on hiatus after being quiet for months. Beyond that, several incidents had happened in the past years that left many thinking that the band could be finished.

One big incident that got many anxious was Ted Dwane's recent emergency surgery for having a blood clot in his brain. This happened in September 2013 when the band announced that they are taking a break "for the foreseeable future."

Apparently, now is the foreseeable future as the band just surprised everyone with a new album. Not only that, the band also experimented and tried to shake their music a little bit for a fresh new sound for their fans pleasure.

"When we took a break, we knew it wasn't going to involve acoustic instruments," band member Marcus Mumford said in a press release to E! News. "We didn't say: 'No acoustic instruments.' But I think all of us had this desire to shake it up," he added.

Mumford however said that the change was not drastic. "The songwriting hasn't changed drastically; it was led more by a desire to not do the same thing again. Plus, we fell back in love with drums! It's as simple as that."

It seems like the band enjoyed getting back on the studio with their instruments as band member Ben Lovett revealed. "It felt completely natural, though," he said. "Like it did when we started out... We chose instruments that played well off each other, rather than consciously trying to overhaul it."
