MTV's series 'The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2' entered its twenty-sixth season on January 6^th, and is keeping the show exciting with new twists and turns.

The show pits past contestants on MTV shows 'The Real World' and 'Road Rules' against each other as they compete for a $250,000 cash prize. This season's events will take place in Panama, with TJ Lavin as host.

In a surprise to contestants, Lavin revealed that the 'Battle of the Exes'participants will be required to partner up with their former lovers. The competitors will have to find some love between themselves in order to work together to get a hold of the super-sized cash prize.

This season's first episode brought in nine new competitors who have previously appeared on MTV's 'The Real World: Ex-Plosion' and 'Are You The One?', two reality series. Other contestants who have been mainstays on 'The Challenge' expressed their exasperation at seeing the fresh competitors.

The first challenge of the season saw the female contestants navigating across a tightrope suspended 500 feet in the air while their male counterparts hovered above them like superheroes. Season One vets Adam and Brittany got the boot after coming in last place, while Wes and Theresa took first place.

Seeking revenge against Johnny, Wes deliberated with Theresa, and ultimately the couple decided to send Dustin and  Jessica and Adam and Brittany into the elimination round. Dustin and Jessica ended up losing the battle, but host TJ, in another turn of events, announced the couple would not be sent home, but sent into exile with a chance to return to the game later.
