In the upcoming episode of "Mr. Robot," the Dark Army will proceed with the second phase of its plan to defeat E Corp, with or without Elliot.

It can be recalled that in the final moments of "Mr. Robot" season 2, Tyrell revealed to Eliot that the Dark Army was all geared up for the next phase of its plan against the E Corp. As expected, Elliot was surprised because he had thought that Tyrell was already dead. It was also hard for him to believe that the fight versus E Corp was still ongoing. When he told Tyrell that he did not want to be involved in their plans, Tyrell was left with no other choice but to silence him. He tried to kill Elliot by shooting him on the chest, and then called Angela.

With Elliot temporarily out of the picture, the Dark Army is expected to push through with the next phase of its plan. According to executive producer Sam Esmail, the group should not underestimate Elliot, as he is set to return as a changed man next season. He revealed that if he was beset with insecurities in the first two installments of the series, the new Elliot in season 3 will be stronger, wiser and sure of himself.

"Season three, and the way I've been thinking about it, is sort of the return to Elliot--but not the naïve Elliot we saw at the beginning of the season. It's the Elliot we've seen go through this horrific experience from the first and second seasons, and with all of that in mind, that's going to make this new Elliot come into fruition in the next season," said Esmail.

"Mr. Robot" season 3 premieres in 2017.
