'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Release Date, Premiere News: Second Season Expected to Dig Deeper Into Elliot's Psyche

While little is known about the next installment of the cyber series, fans already expect "Mr. Robot" season 2 to dig deeper into the psyche of Elliot, played by actor Rami Malek.

Speculations about the upcoming season started to roll in after the finale of the previous season revealed that Mr. Robot was just a product of Elliot's imagination.

In an interview, actor Christian Slater said that even though the true nature of Mr. Robot's character was only revealed in the final episode of the series, he already knew that the series was going to take that direction.

The 46-year-old actor revealed that "Mr. Robot" director Esmail already told him in their first meeting that Mr. Robot was just a figment of Elliot's imagination.

"I was ecstatic that I picked up on that so that put us on the same page from day one," said the veteran Hollywood actor.

"If I'm created out of the subconscious of his brain, I can just do whatever I want!" he jokingly added.

Slater and Malek also shared that they did not have any problem filming scenes that required them to hurt each other, because they perfectly knew how far they could go. The actors particularly cited the scene in the final episode where Elliot choked and threw Mr. Robot onto a wall.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the cast and crew of the series have already finished production work for the upcoming season, while Esmail is still in the process of polishing the upcoming episodes.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is scheduled to air on July 13, 10:00 P.M. on USA Network.
