'Mr. Robot' Season 2 News, Spoilers: New Episodes Introduce Leon And Elliot's Childhood Friend?

The premiere episode of "Robot" season 2 takes viewers to a trip down the memory lane.

The new season opens with two flashback scenes, one involving Elliot's childhood and the other showing a conversation between Tyrell Wellick and the F Society. The first flashback scene features a young Elliot falling out a window during his early years.

The episode also provides viewers with an overview of Elliot's life with his mother, whom he dislikes. During those years, Elliot was totally detached from the outside world, basking in his daily routine of doing household chores, watching basketball games, joining church groups and having meals with Leon, his bombastic friend who is obsessed with Seinfeld.

One scene shows Leon telling Elliot something about Seinfeld. Elliot seems uninterested throughout the discourse, but Leon's mouth looks like a much better source of entertainment for Elliot than the pencil and notebook or computer screen which he now uses to chronicle his humdrum life.

Elliot's delusions in season 2 are stronger than the previous season. In one of the scenes, Mr. Robot shoots him in the head. When Gideon Goddard appears to clear Elliot's name from the hack, Mr. Robot mocks him and provokes him to kill Godard with a knife, saying, "If I sliced open his neck right now, would it be me doing it, or you doing it?"

Elsewhere in the episode, Darlene urges the members of the F Society to regain their focus as they get back to work.

"Mr. Robot" returns on July 13, 10:00 p.m. on USA.
