Exciting things are in store for the upcoming episode of "Mr. Robot" season 2, especially since a truce is about to happen between Elliot and Mr. Robot.

In episode 4, Elliot and Mr. Robot started playing chess. While it seemed to be just a simple chess game on the outside, it's actually more than just that. This is because Elliot and Mr. Robot agreed that whoever wins will take over the mind of the hacker. Hence, the outcome of the game will set the stage for the events in episode 5.

It can be recalled that in the previous episode, Elliot realized the impasse after a series of stalemate games with Mr. Robot.

"I cannot beat you, and you cannot beat me," he told his alter ego. We could play again, we will always be in this impasse and you knew all along," he added.

"It was the only way to show you that fighting me is a waste of time. When will you finally realize that I am here for a reason?" answered Mr. Robot.

Mr. Robot's response hinted at a possible "partnership" between the two characters in the upcoming episode.

Spoilers suggest that the two personalities will start working harmoniously together in episode 5.

Meanwhile, the previous episode saw Angela' failed blackmail attempt. As things get even more complicated for her in the upcoming episode, she will turn to Elliot/ Mr. Robot and Darlene for help.
