‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ on TV News: Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt Blockbuster to Become Reality Series
The 2005 blockbuster film 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' starring Hollywood's A-list couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will soon come on television in the form of a reality game show.
The story of this hit action thriller comedy is about a bored married couple named John Smith and Jane Smith. Both Mr. and Mrs. Smith covertly work as assassins, but neither is aware of the other's activities. The story takes an interesting twist when rival agencies hire them to eliminate each other.
A report in IB Times states that the original producers of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' - Todd A. Nelson and Brant Pinvidic of 3 Ball Entertainment and New Regency - are also producing the reality TV game show. 3 Ball Entertainment, also known as Eyeworks USA, whose earlier works include 'My Cat From Hell' and 'Bar Rescue.'
According to Variety, the TV game format will have an interesting twist.
However, as of now, the producers of the upcoming reality TV game show have not revealed any further details regarding the project. They just shared that as in the original movie, the reality game series will also feature married couples who will be seen competing for the title of a power couple in a "high-octane, high-stakes game that offers a twist on the TV competition format."
'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' earned $478 million from the box office in 2005 and was declared a blockbuster. Apart from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the movie also featured Adam Brody, Chris Weitz, Jennifer Morrison, Kerry Washington, Keith David, Vince Vaughn and Michelle Monaghan. In fact, 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' holds a unique significance for Jolie and Pitt as the couple began their romance while shooting the movie.
At that time, both Jolie and Pitt denied their romance because the latter was still married to actress Jennifer Aniston. However, he got divorced from Aniston later and went on to live with Jolie. Over a period of time, the couple adopted three kids and also produced three biological kids together. They eventually married in 2014 in the presence of their six children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
